Infighting in BJP took an ugly turn on Tuesday as a video of an woman corporator being manhandled by a party MLA went viral on social media. The incident took place in a hotel in Daman.
BJP was holding a party meeting on oganisational changes where a verbal argument ensued after MLA Naveen Patel passed a comment on an woman corporator Simple Katela from the Daman Municipal Corporation.
The video shows Patel hitting the woman a number of times after she protested and pushed her down on the floor even as others were trying to pacify them. The incident was recorded on CCTV camera. Katela later lodged a police complaint against Patel.
