In a shocking incident, a 40-year-old mentally deranged man was dumped in a drain on his way to hospital allegedly by the ambulance driver besides a police chowkidar and health officials in Jharkhand.
As per a report on Hindustan Times, the man was referred to MGM Jamshedpur by the Ghatsila sub-divisional hospital which was 45 km away. He lied in the drain for 22 hours with heavy rains before villagers alerted authorities and was in a “critical” condition due to pneumonia.
The man’s name is not yet known, and has infections in wounds on a leg that might be amputated even as authorities blame each other for the ghastly act. Ghatsila SDPO Sanjeeb Besra told HT that he has called a meeting with all concern people to investigate the matter and the culprit will be booked after investigation.
