India made history yesterday when Rohit Khandelwal from Hyderabad won the prestigious Mr World 2016 title. The male pageant was held in Southport, U.K. This makes Rohit not only the first Indian to win the title, it makes him the first Asian to be Mr World as well.
The competition saw 47 participants from around the world, giving him a stiff competition. Rohit Khandelwal received a whopping cash prize of 50,000 US dollars on winning this celebrated title. Puerto Rico finished 2nd while Mexico bagged the 3rd prize.
“I feel so privileged and humbled to be Mr World 2016. I would like to thank all my fans and all the people who have been giving me all their blessings. It is only your love and support that has been my inspiration to win Mr World 2016. It has been an amazing journey to this point, and I cannot wait to see what happens next,” Rohit said to the media.
