Comedian Kapil Sharma says he has utmost respect for PM Modi, and both the Centre and Maharashtra governments.

Comedian Kapil Sharma clarified on Twitter Saturday that his earlier tweets on the alleged bribe demand from BMC official and Acche Din promise of prime minister Narendra Modi was not meant to disrespect the PM or his party.

He said he has utmost respect for the PM both the Centre and Maharashtra governments. It was his anger against corruption that he expressed on twitter.

The comedian added he had only expressed his concerns and regretted that his tweets took shape of unnecessary controversy. He clarified he is not a part of any political party nor does he intend to be.

Earlier Sharma had said on Twitter: “I am paying 15 cr income tax from last 5 year n still i have to pay 5 lacs bribe to BMC office for making my office.”

He had asked Modi if this was the ‘Acche Din’ he had promised which later snowballed into a controversy inviting mixed reactions on the social media platform.
