Indian railways is all set to test its first solar powered train in Jodhpur. All the lights and fan of the train will run on solar energy. The solar train has been fully prepared at the Railways’ Jodhpur workshop. According to reports, around 50 coaches will be made ready in future. The reports also suggest that trail run of the train is delayed as officials fear that passengers might climb the roof and damage the solar panels. The approval for the trial is yet to be given. Notably, the railway board had approved Rs 1.95 cr to Jodhpur workshop as part of the pilot project.
Indian Railways is all set to put the first solar powered train on trial by the end of this month.
