Three girls from IIT Madras have put up a parody of Carly Rae Jepson’s song ‘Call Me Maybe’ and it is going viral.

Krupa Varghese, Anukripa Elango and Asmita Ghosh from IIT Madras uploaded a video earlier this month as a part of Saahitya 2016’s Sir Mix-A-Lot song parody contest. The description for the video said, “This is our entry for Saahitya 2016’s Sir Mix-A-Lot song parody contest! We rewrote the lyrics to Call Me Maybe in the style of an Indian Matrimonial Ad. Many thanks to Krupa Varghese for being the stellar actor in this video.”

The three-minute-long video shows a mother-in-law who is looking for a good wife (pondati) for her son. It mentions all the USPs of both the groom and expected bride-to-be. While the son’s MBA degree and good looks come up as his ‘qualities’, the round shape of her chapatis and ‘homely’ nature defines the perfect Pondati.
