India’s regional supremacy remained intact in the South Asian Games 2016 after our county won the overall championship for the 12th consecutive time in a row.
With women boxers scooping all the three gold medals on offer and the judokas also bagging two gold and two silver on the last day of the Games, India’s final tally stood at 188 gold, 99 silver and 30 bronze medals with a record breaking 308 medals. India won the South Asian Games 2016 in Shillong on Tuesday. Sri Lanka bagged the 2nd place with a total of 186 medals and Pakistan got the 3rd place with 106 medals.
