A dramatic video has been released showing the Turkish coastguard rescuing a migrant who was stuck on the end of a sinking boat. Turkish coastguards spotted the boat in distress during their daily search. On board the boat were 34 people travelling to the Greek island of Lesbos. A total of 27 of them died and six were reported missing in the Aegean Sea.
The rescue was filmed by the coastguards using a Go-Pro camera. The video shows a rescuer is dropped into the sea and swims over to the man, wearing a lifejacket, holding onto the end of the boat for his life. The lone migrant jumped off the boat into the sea and was hoisted up to safety by the rescue helicopter.
