Sri Lanka is likely to emerge as the host venue for the much-awaited series between India and Pakistan bilateral cricket series. An announcement to this effect may come as soon as this weekend.

As per a report on Times of India, a decision has been taken to this effect in the meeting between BCCI president Shashank Manohar and PCB chief Shaharyar Khan. However, India is left with only a month’s window, and the series may be confined to three ODIs and two T20 Internationals. The original plan was to conduct two Tests, five ODIs and two T20 matches.

BCCI had earlier said it won’t accept United Arab Emirates as a neutral venue, and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) refused to send their team to India. In such scenario, Sri Lanka was the only option if the series has to take place. The details are not yet known.
