A selfie clicked by the member of Rajasthan State Commission for Women with a alleged rape survivor courted controversy prompting the chairperson of the commission to seek a written explanation.
Rajasthan State Commission For Women chief Suman Sharma and a member of the panel Soumya Gurjar took a selfie with a rape survivor in Jaipur. The woman had allegedly been gangraped by her husband and her brothers-in-law for dowry. The culprits had also tattooed profanities on the victim’s body. The photos have gone viral on WhatsApp. No arrests have been made in the incident.
