Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who was released from Pune’s Yerawada prison on Thursday morning, stated that he is not a terrorist and wants to leave behind the bitter memories of being convicted in connection with the 1993 serial blasts case.
After serving 42 months for possessing an AK-56 supplied by gangsters behind a series of bomb blasts in Mumbai in 1993, authorities decided to release him ahead of schedule for good behaviour. Dutt kissed the ground as he walked free from the jail in Pune.
He then boarded a chartered flight to Mumbai with wife Manyata and children Iqra and Shahran. He was greeted by fans at the airport.
After landing in Mumbai, the 56-year-old actor visited the Siddhivinayak temple and his mother Nargis Dutt’s grave.
