Formal dress code for FB staff during Modi visit

Contrary to its pride of informal dress code and office culture, Facebook issued a formal dress code order to its staff during the visit of Narendra Modi to its headquarters on Sunday. It’s formal business attire for men and “nice dresses” for women as the company warns sternly against sleeveless shirts and shorts.

That’s posh coming from a company whose CEO made hoodie a popular office wear — he has been noted to wear gray T-shirt — the same, jeans and black hoodie at most popular lox events.

Modi acknowledges Google’s Pichai

Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledged Google CEO Sundar Pichai’s remarks that his company saw India as a key market and looked forward to the leader’s visit to his campus in San Jose.

Pichai had posted a message on Youtube a day before: “Google was looking to renewing and strengthening its partnership with India, as it sees the country as a pivotal market in its global expansion plans.”

In response Modi tweeted: “Thanks @sundarpichai for your message. I appreciate the role of @google in @_DigitalIndia & look forward to meeting you today.”

No sooner did Modi arrive in San Jose to a grand welcome on Saturday than he said he too was eagerly awaiting the programmes in the next two days.
